Zines

Minor Arcana #1 now available. More issues are planned and also additional, standalone zines.

Minor Arcana is a handcrafted zine that explores occult and occult-adjacent themes across various forms of writing, including theory, cultural criticism, fiction, and autobiography.

Contents of Issue #1:

  • Escaping Gormenghast is the story of its author’s teenage encounter with the writings of Mervyn Peake, and how the author’s relationship to Peake’s literary creation has changed down the years.

  • A One-Way Ministration is a fictional, autobiographical piece on Buddhist meditation and psychological projection.

  • Ambiguities and Variations in “Song to the Siren” focuses on recordings made by Tim Buckley (1970) and This Mortal Coil (1983), extrapolating from minor differences in their lyrics whole new worlds of interpretative possibilities.

A5-sized stapled zine. Black and white. 32 pages. Printed on 250gsm coloured card cover, with 100gsm recycled paper interior. (Colour of card may vary from that shown, but the quality will not.)
